ShadyCraft - Hosting help needed! Reward?

I'm looking to start the new ShadyCraft. Therefore I need some assistance for plugins and etc from knowledgeable and trustworthy folk.

Alrighty, should you want to help in another way, here's some requirements.

Textured Man:

I'd need some info on texture pack making. If you can assist with this, your main reward is to know that should you create what we need (There will be grey areas so you can roam wild with it) you will be permanently engraved into the server and everyone will see your work when they start up their client. It will be mandatory to apply the title screen texture. You will also receive VIP+ and the right to have an exclusively made armor set by you, for you, with no durability limit, similar to ShadyGear. You'll be the only one to have it and it will be mandatory to include this part as well in textures for all.

Block Head:

We need some pro builders, you have to have advanced piston knowledge and prove it via a video. I prefer youtube, as it doesn't have a ghastly buffering rate. Should you be accepted your main reward will be building the legendary three places alongside other misc ideas (We may want an arena or shop):

a - The GM Globe [It shall rival the moon, but only be extremely high up and normally unreachable to an extent. It doesn't have to be huge, it just has to break the rule of no balls in minecraft and we have to like it. Your imagination (and the sky) is the limit!]

b - VIP Game Show Rooms [We'll have events for VIPs to come to this room that you create, and it will feature a quiz game show for prizes at random from a dispenser. This will require pistons however, so be ready. We'll supply you with materials as always, or just use an inventory mod when we give you permission. Also, you'll get an even more exclusive chance to build the VIP+ room!]

c - Spawn room [The main Spawn room for all to see and use at each login. You shall put your IGN in full block format (???'s Retreat) at a specific portal, which will lead to a specific place you can modify to your heart's content. Also, this place will be public. Our main rule with this will be that no one besides you can modify this place. You will also create the other spawn points.

You'll also be rewarded with gm status for accomplishing this incredible feat, along with our absolute respect. For each thing built you will acquire a full set of chain-mail armor, finishing it all will give you the option to trade in the unused sets for a full set of ShadyGear. You can distribute the chain-mail sets if wanted or use them, but you lose your option for ShadyGear if you do so. And as a last bonus, you can star as a mascot player for us if desired!

Ranks:

Guest: Generic ranks are generic, hmm? You cannot use any portals aside from the "Guest Map" Portal, which will take you to a basic map that has little to do, but it does give a feel of what you could get into here.

Member: The basic rank, all that are logged in will receive this automatically. You can build where allowed and pvp where accepted by staff prior. You cannot go into the "Guest Map" once registered. We may add even more features as time passes, so stay tuned?

VIP: This will give you access to a special game show building, there you can win awesome prizes such as unrefined ores in stacks of 18, special flame blocks used for the chainmail armor, and much more. All of this, simply by requesting for it from a higher up. At first this building will be unavailable, but with time it shall be constructed. in the case of an update and the world is destroyed, if you lose your inventory, you will receive a complete chain-mail set with a month's backup guarantee and a return of VIP status once a new building is created. You need not have all or any won items unused when an update occurs. You also get standard member privileges.

To obtain VIP, you must first either recruit 5 people to the server, donate at least 10 dollars to the shadygamer forum, recruit at least 25 people to the forum here, or have had an official grant it to you. Server recruiting must only be done if we accept them, as this server will be closed to the general public. Inviting friends without ShadyGamer's permission will be punishable. Donations from the past can be counted if they are verified, and paying for a ShadyGamer service or hack membership with cash works as well, if it can be verified.

VIP+: This is an advanced VIP rank, which will not only grant you the above [Even the Guest Map portal], it will grant you a smidgen of visit time with GMs. Also, you can grab from the "Super" dispenser, which contains a higher chance for fire blocks, stacks of refined ores in 5, and you now get an exclusive chance to obtain "Shady" tickets. These can grant you into a new room with a low chance for custom armor called "ShadyGear" This will include sunglasses, and the rest are a mystery atm. This will be started on once the normal VIP building is done, and shall be connected to it.

To obtain VIP+, you have to be granted such by an official. You cannot otherwise obtain this rank. "Textured Man" and "Block Head" are also classified as "VIP+"

Textured Man: This is a special rank that is clarified above, and is also closed to availability aside from those who help in the correct manner when needed.

Medieval Mercenary: This is classified as a "Member Title" Rank. If you have "Member" Rank you may obtain this rank by collecting and wearing the full chain-mail set and contacting a gm or above. However, obtaining chain-mail pieces requires at least VIP and therefore requires a supervised trade. Use the trade room for this, which will be created in the future. If you have another special "Member Title" Rank, you can use this method to swap your rank provided again, you have the full chain-mail set on. If you've had this rank before and you've swapped to another Member Title, provide a screenshot and we can return the rank to you.

Blue Royalty: This is classified as a "Member Title" Rank. If you have "Member" Rank you may obtain this rank by collecting 30 Lapis Lazuli Blocks and contacting a gm or above. Next, give the GM the blocks to verify your rank desire via going into the inventory menu and dragging the 50 stack out of the GUI, and closing the menu. If you have another special "Member Title" Rank, you can trade in 15 Lapis Lazuli Blocks instead of 50 to swap ranks in the same manner as above.

Maximum Luxury: This is classified as a "Member Title" Rank. If you have "Member" Rank you may obtain this rank by collecting the below in-game and contacting a gm or above. Next, give the GM the items to verify your rank desire via going into the inventory menu and dragging the 1 stack of 10 out of the GUI, and closing the menu. let him or her check it, and repeat with the other types of material. Here's a list:

10 Coal

10 Iron

10 Lapis Lazuli

10 Gold

10 Diamond

10 Redstone

If you have another special "Member Title" Rank, you can trade in 10 Diamond and 10 Gold instead of all of the above to swap ranks in the same manner as above.

Shady Gamer: This is classified as a "Member Title" Rank. If you have "Member" Rank you may obtain this rank by collecting and wearing the full ShadyGear set and contacting a gm or above. However, obtaining ShadyGear pieces requires at least VIP+ and therefore requires a supervised trade. Use the trade room for this, which will be created in the future. If you have another special "Member Title" Rank, you can use this method to swap your rank provided again, you have the full ShadyGear set on. If you've had this rank before and you've swapped to another Member Title, provide a screenshot and we can return the rank to you.

Techie: This Rank can be applied for once the server is up, and anyone needing assistance in or out of the game may contact a Techie. Techies needbe tried for support before contacting a GM if it's not related to rule breaking.

GM: This is a special rank granted by the owner. You may apply once the server gets readied, and there is a limited amount of slots available. "Block Head" is also classified as "GM". You are granted permission to use mods unusable to most other ranks, which will be listed later. Also, you'll need to monitor and assist members who need you... Or who look suspicious. General GM rules and duties apply. GMs can hold events if approved by an owner.

Champion: An exclusive Rank just below Owner. Champions can do all that any other rank can do aside from owner, and they officially have no duties. Think of it as a rank for a mascot, only much more. General rules apply, but Champions CAN use mods that GMs can + some others. Again, this list has yet to be determined.

Owner: This is the rank only owned by "WolfBane" and possibly Shady. Should a severe event happen, or anything of advanced preportions, Owners are to assist. This includes but is not limited to maintaining the server, and watching over GMs and other players.

This looks awesome, I would totally recommend you use a VPS to host it though. Since it's best to host it 24/7 so no one needs to actually tell you to open up the server.

Also linux servers (usually cheaper, and more stable) can easily handle minecraft servers. Once this is readied I would definitely play it!

Thanks for the tips. ^^; I really need free hosting, I don't have any money for this. I'll be sure to make the server available ASAP once Shady gives an ok. I'll set it up for now, but...

I'll repeat, I first need someone who can help me set this up via Teamviewer, I know nothing about this besides the guide that was posted, and I was wanting a walk-through to make sure I don't miss anything or do something wrong.

I can help you with the mods and things. I hope you decide to either make it a custom built server or a bukkit server as those are the most flexible. I can help teach you how to make a texture pack and how to make a mod that adds special items in, but cannot do that myself as I'm not very creative. I can code to an extent for adding items in though.

Edit: Is it 1.8 or below, because I think 1.8 will be really REALLY buggy for SMP and when 1.9 A LOT of tweaks will have to be made because of the NPC's.

I want it to be below 1.8 But I'm not certain what it is atm. It's currently made and all it needs is port-forwarding now, getting that done asap with the help of live chat support.

I'd love for some plugins like factions and heroes, or some like them, as I enjoy having teams. I need help with making custom items too x.x

Anyways, this server sounds amazing. I can guess what you're gonna do with pistons Mayhaps we can build a super cool dungeon sometime?

Also, I can probably help with any mods you are working with. I have previous experience, as you know. Setting them up will be different from what I am used to (hmod, anyone?) But I can learn and otherwise help with settings, testing, etc. Just PM me if you need any assistance!

Ok, so atm a technical support person told me I shouldn't try to port forward seeing as it seems open at thier end and it may cause internet issues. wut nao.

Are you using a VPS provider? Which kind? Because I know that you can run a server on windows, mac, and linux. Linux already has open ports, so you don't need to PF.

Just use a VPS, if your using a VPS, a linux one, you definitely do not need to port forward or anything like that. Its a s*** load easier, and linux VPS's will work as well.....

Also it'll be stable and it won't affect your internet speed

Not using VPS to my knowlidge, just the server files and a bat. Sinthed set me up with bukkit.
